About All Out Studios

Hello friends,

I could talk for HOURS about why this is important, but I’ll keep it relatively brief in case you’re busy!

Gyms can be a TOXIC setting for LGBTQIA+ individuals.

Over lockdown, I fell in love with online exercise and yoga classes, and not just because I had no choice. First of all, they’re available whenever you need them. But more importantly: anyone can do them and anyone can feel comfortable!

I got certified in Personal Training (recently!) after battling a five year love-hate relationship with the gym, and fitness ideals in general. I have my own personal stories about “gym trauma” and being made to feel uncomfortable or misunderstood; but any transgender, non-binary, gender fluid,  or other LGBTQIA+ people could write books on the way that fitness and gym culture has failed them.

I have NEVER been asked to share pronouns in a gym or yoga class. I have NEVER been encouraged to lift heavy weights in a gym. And I have NEVER seen a gym with inclusive locker rooms. There are exceptions, of course, but too few and too late. These things, seemingly easy to neglect, can have lasting and awful impacts on people experiencing gender dysphoria or just coming to terms with their sexuality and identity.

Which brings me to the online studio I would like to fund! This studio is for everyone: LGBTQIA+ and allies. It is dedicated to always using gender neutral pronouns in classes. It is dedicated to never making comments or assumptions about anyone’s fitness or wellness goals—or ability. It is dedicated to providing a safe, online community that is welcoming and accepting of all people: regardless of gender, sexuality, identity, and ability. I’ll teach exercise classes as well as hire instructors to teach yoga, meditation, nutrition, and all other things to encourage a healthy life WITHOUT the stress of our (sadly) heteronormative homophobic gym culture. If you’re curious for  specific examples or want to share, send me an email at If you’d like to donate, use this GoFundMe or Venmo @johnnawatson with the comment being “All Out”. Thank you so much for your support! So excited to spread some love! Xx

An online community promoting fitness, wellness, and LOVE.
