For those who don't know about Bucee's, they are the largest convenience store in Texas. Huge store with many gas pumps that line up for a bit. Bucee's has always been a favorite of Texans on the way to Houston always had to stop in to visit store. They are expanding and have started opening stores in other States. That is a good thing for their business.
My gripe started around the lockdowns in 2020.
During that time, I ate through all of my stash of pickled watermelon rinds that I gotten from Bucee's. Those pickled watermelon rinds are the same recipe and tastes just like my Grandmother and Great Grandmother used to make. I've never been able to perfect their recipe. A taste of my roots and where I grew up. I strongly believe that many of you can relate to regardless of where you were from originally. There is just something special about the taste of home.
I have visited some of their stores in Dallas TX area looking for one of my favorite Southern foods.
Nothing, I would inquire about when they would get more of my beloved pickled watermelon rinds and I was told that the shortage was due to the pandemic. Last week I had a conversation with an elderly gentlemen who works at their store and he was missing those pickles also.
All of last year I had on my list to email their corporate office and forgot.
Today, I went into their store and their shelves were not fully stocked, but I noticed they brought back the pickled Quail eggs. That threw me in a fit. I took a picture of their shelves and have decided my blog article will be my email to corporate.
I tried to find a picture of a jar of their brand of pickled watemelon rinds online, but I could not find any. I did find a picture of Bucee's spicy pickled okra which is tasty.
Please bring back the pickled watermelon rinds with your private label.
Where are the spicy pickled okra jars?
